But maybe most important of all—I watched my life burn to the ground at age 49 when my husband (and best friend in the whole wide world) betrayed me in the most egregious way imaginable. For the full story, you can purchase my memoir The Heart-Shaped Wilderness here. I know what it feels like when life is interrupted, when trauma happens, when life is divided into a before and an after, and all you have left is an ash heap of broken dreams and broken promises.
But oh, my sweet friend reading this…if you will take my hand, I promise you—there is so much beauty up ahead, so much more than what you’ve lost. So much joy, peace and wonder at the wildness of this new life God has always been preparing you for.
This is my promise to you: I won’t leave you alone. Every word I write, whether it be on the pages of my newest book, or on a blog post, or in my newsletter, every single word is meant to give you hope and guidance. Because trauma doesn’t have to be an ending. It can actually be the greatest new beginning of your life.
XOXO
Hey—I’m Tasse’
Pronounced Tah-say
I’m a Louisiana girl, which explains the bougee French name that I have to explain every single time I introduce myself. (It means cup by the way, and I like to tell people “my cup runneth over with blessings.")
I’ve been a Spirit Junkie since the day I drew my first breath and I believe that there are some things in this world you just can’t explain. (Thank Goodness!) Because what fun would life be if it didn’t surprise you?
I’m an expert at failure and second chances, a recovering perfectionist and an awkward adventurer. (Which means I get out there and do stuff, I just do it really, really awkward. See photo.)
I’m addicted to cowboy boots, bell bottoms, old barns and a tall glass of iced tea. I can’t pass up a bookstore, a heart-shaped rock or a great piece of architectural salvage.
So What’s This All About?
This space is for the women who’ve been through it.
I created this little corner of the internet for every woman who’s ever looked around her life and thought, “How did I end up here?” You’re not broken. You’re not too late. And you are definitely not alone. Through storytelling—real, raw, and sometimes wildly awkward—I show you that no matter what you’ve walked through, you get to begin again.
Here’s the bold truth: your second chance is waiting. Let’s go find it together.
